NEWS: More hazardous nuclear waste could soon be stored in Utah; House bill clears committee

Lawmakers are considering opening up the state to the storage of nuclear waste that’s more hazardous than currently allowed. Opponents spoke of health and safety concerns, while supporters praised the economic benefits.

A House committee on Tuesday moved forward HB 220, sponsored by Rep. Carl Albrecht, R-Richfield.
