2022 Fiesta de Otoño: Atardecer y Sangría

2022 Fall Party Recap

Sunset & Sangria

Thanks For Joining Us

After years of shutdowns and navigating a global pandemic, we finally got to bring back our annual Fall Party! This year’s Fall Party welcomed guests onto the fifth floor of the Capitol Theatre with a 70’s themed photo booth and music. The fun continued outside with beautiful sunset views paired with our signature sangria. We loved seeing everyone together at our annual party, enjoying drinks, bites, seeing old friends, and making new ones, as we said farewell to summer.

We want to thank everyone who donated during the event and give a special thank you to RoHa Brewing Project, Squatters Craft Beer, and Wasatch Brewery for their generous donations. If you would like to help support our work, you can donate directly here or learn about the many other ways to give here.

Let's Keep The Party Going!

If you couldn’t make it to our annual fall party, we would like to bring the party to you! Here is an easy recipe to replicate our sangria.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 medium apple (cored, skin on, chopped into small pieces)
  • 1/2 medium orange (rind on, sliced into small pieces, large seeds removed // plus more for garnish)
  • 3-4 Tbsp  brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup orange juice (plus more to taste)
  • 1/3 cup brandy (plus more to taste)
  • 750 ml bottle dry Spanish red wine*
  • ~1 cup of Ice to chill

Instructions

  1. Add apples, oranges, and sugar to a large pitcher and muddle with a muddler or wooden spoon for 45 seconds.
  2. Add orange juice and brandy and muddle again to combine for 30 seconds.
  3. Add red wine and stir to incorporate, then taste and adjust flavor as needed. I added a bit more brandy, orange juice, and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
  4. Add ice and stir once more to chill. Serve as is or with a bit more ice. Garnish with orange segments (optional).
  5. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours, though best when fresh.
