DIY Air Purifier Workshop (SLC)

Join us on August 7th in Salt Lake City to learn and participate in activities focused on Utah’s growing environmental and public health challenges, and the actions you can take to help address them. As budgets for environmental protections continue to be chipped away, we’re bracing for worsening air quality and further decline of the Great Salt Lake. If your community is feeling the impact, this is an opportunity to get informed, get connected, and take action! Part of this event includes making DIY air filters (free of charge!) that you can take home to improve your indoor air quality.
This FREE event will include:
An opportunity to participate in an interactive research exercise aimed at generating community-led ideas for addressing Great Salt Lake issues.
A presentation on air quality, its impact on our health, and what’s being done (or not done) at the state level
A hands-on DIY air purifier workshop to help protect your home and your community from harmful pollutants.
Opportunities for action, including writing postcards to legislators and submitting public input on Utah’s air quality monitoring plan (learn more).
All ages are welcome, and research activity participants must be 18+! Childcare services will be available to attendees. Dinner and supplies will be provided for free, and all participants will receive a $25 gift card.
