Join us for HEAL Forward! This year, our annual fundraiser is bringing together the HEAL community for an expert-led panel discussion on the explosive growth of data centers.
From their impact on the Great Salt Lake, to the jump in energy prices and explosion in community outcry, data centers are driving a new wave of grassroots activism across the country. Facilitated by Gabi Finlayson of Elevate Utah, our panel of experts will explore the legal, environmental, and political ramifications of Utah’s growing embrace of data centers to determine the best way forward. Gabi Finlayson: Panel Facilitator
As Senior Partner at Elevate Utah, Gabi has worked on high-profile political campaigns across Utah, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Her experience spans presidential, Senate, mayoral, and state races, as well as serving as the youngest Chief of Staff in modern Massachusetts history.
Dr. Sarah Schear
Dr. Schear MD, MS is a board-certified pediatrician and Assistant Professor at theU of U School of Medicine with expertise in climate and health.
She brings a public health perspective focused on protecting children and future generations. She speaks on behalf of herself, not her employer.
Brigham Daniels
Professor Brig Daniels is an environmental and property law expert at the University of Utah College of Law and Co-Director of the Wallace Stegner Center.
His work on Great Salt Lake, water rights, and environmental regulation brings a solutions-focused legal perspective to the discussion.
Caitlin McLennan
Caitlin McLennan is the Utah Political Director for Operating Engineers Local 3.
Her experience working with rural communities, workers, and policymakers brings a worker-centered perspective on community benefits, meaningful engagement, and good jobs in Utah’s development.
