Meet Renee & Drew: HEAL’s Newest Interns

Please help us in welcoming HEAL’s newest interns, Renee and Drew!

Renee: Summer Outreach Intern

Renee is an Environmental Studies student at Westminster College. Her appreciation and respect for the environment was fostered through her upbringing in Northwest Montana. Growing up in a conservative logging community with very little room for environmental advocacy, she decided to build her advocacy toolbox in Salt Lake City, where environmental nonprofits are abundant.

Renee is passionate about the nonprofit world, because it provides a platform for the voices of marginalized and oppressed members of the community, who often experience the most severe effects of environmental degradation.

An avid outdoors-woman, Renee spends her free time climbing, skiing and backpacking with her dog, Indy, in all the incredible landscapes that Utah has to offer.

Drew: Clean Power for Utah Organizing Intern

Drew first got involved with HEAL by citizen lobbying with us every Tuesday and Thursday during the 2019 legislative session, where he urged legislators to push good bills and appropriations forward and met with legislators to try and stop bad bills.
A recent University of Utah graduate, Drew will be working with HEAL on grassroots organizing, community educate, and statewide outreach for some of our energy-related campaigns.
Drew is also fluent in Spanish, an art buff, and a lover of ancient and religious history.
