Welcome Hector!

Welcome Hector!

HEAL Utah’s New Outreach Intern.

We are thrilled to introduce you to our 2022 Outreach Intern, Hector Cedillo-Tellez.

Welcome to the Team!

Hector Cedillo-Tellez (he/him/his) was born in Kansas but moved to the Salt Lake Valley when he was eight years old. He grew up mainly in Millcreek but now sees West Valley City as his home.

Hector is a First-Generation American and a First-Gen College Student who is currently a senior at Southern Utah University. He is studying Anthropology and Political Science with an emphasis on International Relations, including a minor in Sustainability Studies.

While he is not entirely sure what he plans to do after graduation, he has a feeling that he will be involved with issues regarding environmental justice and immigration.

At SUU, Hector is the Student Life Enhancement Director and a Vice President of the Latinx Student Alliance. His goal with these positions is to create a diverse and inclusive environment for all students on campus and to make them feel welcomed in Southern Utah.

In Hector’s free time, he likes to go on hikes and admire the unique scenery and wildlife our mountainous desert offers. He is very excited to be working with HEAL Utah because of their focus on environmental justice. Hector is also excited to be working on the front lines with the local community and state legislators for a healthy and sustainable Utah.
